The Dudhsagar Waterfall Trek is a spectacular adventure located in the Western Ghats of India, near the border of Goa and Karnataka. Renowned for its breathtaking beauty, the trek offers a unique experience as hikers navigate lush, dense forests and cross scenic streams. The highlight of the trek is the Dudhsagar Waterfall itself, which cascades down a staggering 310 meters in four tiers, resembling a sea of milk (“dudhsagar” translates to “sea of milk” in Konkani). The journey to the falls typically starts from the town of Kulem or Castle Rock, and involves trekking through rugged terrain, crossing railway tracks, and navigating riverbeds. This trek is best suited for those with a moderate level of fitness and a love for nature. The monsoon season, from June to September, enhances the waterfall’s grandeur, but can also make the trek more challenging due to slippery paths and heavy rains. The trek not only offers a chance to witness one of India’s tallest waterfalls but also provides an opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity of the region.
