Tour Details

Tamil Nadu is the fourth largest state of India. Located in the southernmost part of the country, Tamil Nadu is surrounded by Andhra Pradesh from the north, Karnataka and Kerala from the west, Indian Ocean from the south, and Bay of Bengal from the east.

Kanchipuram:

One of the ‘seven sacred cities of India’, Kanchipuram, also known as Kanchi, is regarded as the golden city of a thousand temples. Being the only city sacred to both Shaivites (Shiva worshippers) and Vaishnavas (devotees of Vishnu), it continues to dazzle the visitors with its transcendental temples with their sculptures and architectural beauty. The city is also famous for the vast number of looms which spin out priceless Kanchipuram silk and gold sarees, counted among the finest textiles of India. Both the temples and silk have Kanchipuram on the tourism map of India, counting it as one of the points of the golden triangle comprising Chennai, Kanchi and Mahabalipuram for tourism in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram is a historic City, and UNESCO World Heritage site in Tamil Nadu, India. During the reign of the Pallava dynasty, between the 3rd century CE and 7th century CE, it became an important centre of art, Architecture and literature. Mahabalipuram was already a thriving sea port on the Bay of Bengal before this time. A significant amount of coins and other artefacts excavated from this region also indicate a pre-existing trade relation with the Romans even before it became a part of the Pallava Empire.
